Xiao Xi is a six-year-old girl abandoned at birth in Shencheng. She was found by a childless couple but abandoned again when they had their own child. She survives by collecting bottles and cardboard, living in a shack at the North City Garbage Dump. She wears a jade thumb ring engraved with "Xi", the only link to her family. One year ago, an elderly scrap collector felt a connection and took her as his apprentice. He taught her calligraphy, painting, musical instruments, chess, and medical skills in a small courtyard with a Spirit Gathering Array. Under the influence of spiritual energy, she mastered these skills in less than a year. He then taught her cultivation, and she reached the Early Stage of Qi Refining. Last night, her master said he must leave, as he did not belong here. He tapped her forehead, leaving a sealed gift that she can receive when she finds her family and her cultivation improves. He told her that the jade ring would lead her to her family and instructed her to show it to anyone who asked. He closed the courtyard gate and disappeared. Xiao Xi was devastated. She found a small hamster that often watched her and named it Xiao Dou.

The next evening, Xiao Xi encountered a flooded road under a bridge. She warned an electric bike rider, but he ignored her and got stuck. Then a Maserati approached. Xiao Xi rushed into the road to stop it. The driver, Old Zhao, braked, annoyed. The passenger, Ye Yichen, CEO of Ye's Group and seventh young master of the Ye family, one of Shencheng's four great families, told him to see what she wanted. Xiao Xi warned them of the flood. Ye Yichen looked at the girl and felt inexplicable familiarity and closeness. Believing her, he had Old Zhao give her a thousand yuan. Xiao Xi refused but then accepted, needing money for winter. When she tucked the bills into her clothes, the jade ring fell out. Ye Yichen was shocked. He pushed the door open and knelt, asking to see the ring. Xiao Xi let him inspect it but then ran off, afraid he wanted to buy it. Ye Yichen could not learn her address. He sent a message to his brothers that his sister was found and ordered a thorough search for a girl with a jade ring in Chengbei by noon.

The next morning, his men located her at the garbage dump. Xiao Xi thought they were from an orphanage and ran. They chased, assuring they only wanted to see the ring. She stopped and showed it. Chen Dafu, an old servant who served Ye Yichen's grandfather, examined it with a magnifying glass. He saw the character "Xi" and wept, recognizing it as the Ye family's ancestral jade thumb ring, which the old master said would only be passed to a granddaughter. He fainted from shock. Soon, Ye Yichen arrived. He knelt before Xiao Xi and called her his younger sister. He told her her real name is Ye Xiaoxi and that she was stolen from a hospital in the south six years ago. The ring was left to her by their grandfather. Xiao Xi saw love in his eyes and believed him, calling him brother.

Ye Yichen cleared out her shack, taking her junk and her hamster, loading them into his Maserati with the trunk tied. On the way, Xiao Xi placed newspapers on the seat to avoid dirtying the car. She asked for fried chicken. Ye Yichen took her to a shop and ordered a full table. Xiao Xi ate ravenously, sharing fries with Xiao Dou. Bystanders watched the handsome man dote on the dirty girl. Then they drove to his estate, a beautiful manor halfway up a mountain. Servants lined up to welcome the young miss. Xiao Xi bathed for over two hours, washing away the impurities expelled during cultivation progress. She emerged with fair skin and bright eyes, transformed into a lovely fairy. Ye Yichen had arranged new clothes and a room. Xiao Xi felt her master's prophecy had come true. She now has a brother who gives her a home and love. She continues her cultivation, knowing that when her power increases, she can receive the gift sealed in her mind by her master. She is no longer alone.

This story features a remarkably overpowered (OP) young female protagonist who brings a unique charm to the narrative. The main character (MC) is not only a child but also the cherished youngest sibling in a family boasting eight older brothers. These brothers gradually make their appearances in the story, but their primary function seems to be to dote on and spoil her, adding a layer of comedic absurdity to the overall dynamic. The MC herself is a vivid character, often displaying exaggerated traits that give the story an amusing, if somewhat nonsensical, tone. Her extraordinary abilities are far from hidden; rather, they are showcased prominently, leaving onlookers in shock—only for them to quickly accept her talents as a matter of course. This bizarre acceptance can feel a bit disjointed at times, yet it contributes to the novel’s humor. Notably, the pacing is brisk, with face-slapping moments occurring swiftly to provide immediate satisfaction. Readers seeking a feel-good, lighthearted experience will likely find delight in the rapid resolutions and the overall absurdity of the events that transpire. If you enjoy stories featuring protagonists who effortlessly navigate challenges without encountering any significant trials or tribulations, then this novel might just be right up your alley. The narrative intertwines elements of metaphysics and cultivation, showcasing a plethora of skills: from pill-making to art and antique appreciation, as well as musical instrument playing. Astonishingly, all of these talents are embodied by a character who is essentially still in her toddler years. It’s a whimsical journey that embraces its over-the-top nature, making for a uniquely entertaining read.

Overall, I really enjoyed this portion. It's a heartwarming family reunion story with a dash of fantasy. The characters are lovable, the emotions are real, and the plot is satisfying. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes modern cultivation stories or emotional found family narratives. Can't wait to read more and see how Xiao Xi adjusts to her new life and what the gift from her master will do.

One small thing: Xiao Xi has been living in the dump for a year after being abandoned again at five, but she's described as six or seven. The timing might be a bit loose. Also, how did she survive a whole winter in a shack without heating? But minor suspensions of disbelief are okay. The only other nitpick is that the master taught her so many skills in one year – but again, fantasy logic covers it.

The first chapter grabbed me with its gritty realism. The hook of a six-year-old living in a garbage dump is compelling. Then the introduction of the master added mystery. The shift to finding family kept me turning pages. Strong opening that makes me want to continue. The only risk is that after the reunion, the story might lose tension, but the cultivation and family dynamics could sustain it.

I felt anger at the parents who abandoned her, sadness at her loneliness, joy at the brother's love, and amusement at the hamster. The author successfully manipulates emotions through situational details. The part where she cries after the master leaves had me tearing up too. And when she shyly calls Ye Yichen "older brother" – that was a punch of pure emotion. The book knows exactly when to twist the heart.

The initial conflict is survival, then finding identity. The master's departure creates a temporary void, but the reunion with her brother fills it. The conflict with a possibly suspicious family or external threats hasn't emerged yet, but there's potential. The jade ring could attract trouble from people who know its value. I'm curious how the rest of the Ye family will react – there's still mystery around the kidnapping.
