He discovers Eguchi collapsed in the street and lifts him by his harness. He is more open‑minded than Karika, allowing Eguchi to explain his story and challenging him to demonstrate his knowledge. He decides to test Eguchi by taking him to Vlad’s blacksmith guild to see if he can evaluate the workplace. He has a commanding presence but is willing to listen.
