Earl Tulip is the father of Rhode (biological) and the head of the Tulip family. He is an imperial earl. After Emperor’s edict, he is required to send a family member to the Northern Border. Rhode volunteers, and the Earl rewards him with 150 gold coins and ten veteran guards. He also has his wife adopt Rhode as the fourth son, legitimizing him.
