Gong Xu is the Second Master of the Ruyang Bo Mansion and Wen Mingqian's husband. He deeply resents Wen Mingqian, believing she poisoned his son, and he openly favors his concubine, Madam Song. When he learns of Wen Mingqian's sudden return, he is furious and refuses to see her, ordering her to stay confined in her courtyard until the Old Madam returns. He treats Wen Mingqian like a discarded shoe and avoids her entirely. In contrast, he is affectionate and attentive toward Madam Song and their son Gong Bao'an. He works as an official at the yamen and returns home in the evening.
