The boss of the grain and oil wholesale market is a curious merchant who questions Wen Xin about why she needs so much staple food. He is easily satisfied when she says she started a food factory and readily agrees to sell her the inventory. He is representative of the many wholesalers Wen Xin deals with—practical and profit-driven, not suspicious enough to cause problems. He delivers the goods to her warehouse as instructed. His character is minor but serves to show the ease with which Wen Xin can hoard supplies before the apocalypse.
