Han Luoyu is the younger sister of Han Luoxue, about ten years old, and is crippled by a snakebite from earlier in the famine. She is timid and often bows her head when looked at, but she is diligent and helps with chores. She is terrified of the scarred hunter Han Yuchen, but she listens to her older sister without question. She is present during the crucial events: she helps clean the water jar, is shocked by the falling wild goose, and later watches as Han Yuchen gives them a rabbit. She is simple-minded and easily frightened, but she trusts Han Luoxue completely and follows her orders, such as blocking the gate and fetching firewood. She is shown to be weak and hungry, but her older sister promises to feed the family well in the future.
