Han Yuchen is a hunter in the village, the son of Han Laoba. He has a long centipede-like scar from his left eyebrow to his right mouth, which makes him look ferocious and terrifies the villagers, causing everyone to avoid him. He is solitary and not part of the Old Han family. He appears when Han Luoxue hides the wild goose he shot; he tracks it to her yard but does not insist on taking it back. Later, he returns, not to demand the goose, but to give her a live rabbit and a bundle of firewood, showing kindness. He admits he does not want to see her eaten. Despite his scary appearance, he is gentle and generous. Han Luoxue speculates that he might have a secret interest in her, but he denies it. He is an independent and somewhat mysterious character.
