Chu Chunxi's maternal grandfather, an old general of the Daqing Dynasty. He is falsely accused of treason and is beaten with fifty large wooden planks, then exiled to Lingnan. He is elderly, proud, and beloved by his family, representing the hard-hit but honorable Jing family.
