Master Zhuang is a scholar who taught Zhou Jingyun and later raised Zhuang Li after her parents died. He has no children and dedicated his life to teaching. He is dying at the time of the story. Zhou Jingyun married Zhuang Li to give Master Zhuang peace of mind in his final days. He is respected by his disciples and by Zhou Jingyun, who admires his character.
