The adult black dragon who is the mother of Chen Wen, Second Brother, and Third Sister. She initially raises her children by instinct, but after being severely wounded by the red‑feathered hawks she becomes dependent on Chen Wen. She is proud and initially dislikes his human‑like actions (stealing, using tools, making a cart) but later accepts them out of necessity. She warns the young dragons about the dangers of the outside world and hides them in a valley.
