The fierce grandmother of Qiao Wantang. She constantly belittles Tang'er, calls her shameless, and tries to keep all betrothal silver for the younger brother's marriage and for Qiao Xuemei's dowry. She screams, curses, and eventually relents only to seven taels because she wants Tang'er to marry quickly to avoid affecting Xuemei's prospects. She is greedy and partial, showing no affection for Tang'er.
