Prince Ying is a shrewd and politically accomplished prince of the Qi Dynasty, initially the fiancé of Jiang Ruohua through an imperial bestowment. He has outstanding political achievements but engages in favoritism, keeping Zhao Yuexi by his side unmarried. He is described as arrogant and unyielding, fiercely contradictory towards Jiang Ruohua at the gate of the Duke's Mansion, even threatening her after the engagement is broken. He shows frustration and embarrassment, not accepting the dissolution of the betrothal. He confronts her with words like “Woman, don’t even think about invalidating the marriage contract!” and “This Prince will make you wait and see.” He does not consider the face of his legitimate wife but is outraged when Jiang Ruohua disrespects him.
