Sefina is Regis’s mother, a former noblewoman renowned for her skill with sword and magic. She married Shadybelga at a very young age and gave birth to Regis at 15. Shortly after childbirth, she fell victim to the Sickbed of Inactivity, a slow, incurable disease that causes excruciating pain and can take ten to twenty years to kill. Despite her illness, she remains strong-willed and is said to be a fiery personality. She keeps a strict watch over her husband’s behavior, punishing him severely for any perceived infidelity or secret collections. She has not personally met Regis due to her condition, but she hears about his progress and it gives her a reason to live. Her situation is the primary motivation for Regis’s quest to find the Dragon God’s Spoon and the Elf’s Elixir.
