An unnamed, extremely weak male scavenger with sunken eye sockets and a dark complexion. He appeared at the end of the story when rain crows were gathering around the corpses of the two killed scavengers. He was attracted by the crows, knowing it meant food. He dragged himself to the bodies and began desperately competing with the crows for the remains. This character symbolizes the hopelessness and desperation of the lowest tier of survivors in the post-apocalyptic world.
