The former Left Prime Minister, Shen Wan’s biological father. He is corrupt and selfish, having embezzled huge sums while ignoring his eldest daughter. He tries to force Shen Wan to hand over the carriage on grounds of filial piety but is humiliated when he falls into a mud pit while trying to block the RV. He is a hypocritical patriarch whose authority fails against Shen Wan’s defiance.
