A wild bear that attacked the original Wang Xuan in the mountains. It was deliberately driven toward him by Shi Yong and his men, who watched and laughed instead of helping. The bear knocked Wang Xuan unconscious, and he would have been eaten if not for rescue by Chen Shan and other villagers. The bear serves as a tool of attempted murder by Shi Yong. Later, Wang Xuan hunts in the mountains but does not encounter a bear again. The animal is part of the forest’s dangers.
