The Empress is Shen Biluo's mother, a graceful and dignified woman. She is heartbroken when Biluo is harmed but stays strong. She also hears Biluo's inner voice and uses the knowledge to discover that her trusted maid Caidie is a man trying to poison her, and Caiyi was coerced by Consort Li. She handles the situation with courage: executing Caidie and forgiving Caiyi after her confession. She supports the Emperor’s decisions and plans the Flower Appreciation Banquet. She is nurturing but can be firm when needed.
