He is deeply emotional and grateful when his daughter is rescued, collapsing in relief and crying tears of fear and joy. He decides to bring his daughter to live with him, speaking of renting a house near the construction site. He is generous, initially offering Wu Yin two hundred yuan and later insisting on paying the full thousand yuan for the divination, though Wu Yin only accepts the two hundred yuan as agreed.
