Wen Baixiang is the chairman of the Wen Group and the father of Wen Li. He is superstitious, having believed a fortune-teller that Wen Li would bring misfortune, so he sent her away at birth and neglected her for 17 years. He is a cold and calculated businessman, showing minimal and awkward concern when Wen Li returns. He attempts to control her life and expects her to be grateful. He has a wife Lin Yun and two daughters Wen Yan (adopted) and Wen Xin. His guilt and authority clash with Wen Li's defiance.
