Xiang Jiannan is the protagonist, a little Taoist priest of Ping'an Temple. Transmigrated into this world, he is the disciple of Gao Yu'an. He is observant and quick-witted, often helping his master resolve disputes. He is determined to handle the Chen family's paranormal problem. He feels a red light warning before trouble and has a realistic approach to ghosts and demons. He is brave but also scared. He plays a key role in the confrontation with the Headless Woman in White and later questions the nature of the haunting.
