Xiao Quansheng is the mysterious master of Chen Cheng. He previously ran a tea house in Fengjiang County and was known for his unique ability to solve difficult cases. He was recommended by the deceased veteran detective Captain Wang Jianguo. About two years before the story, he left the tea house in the care of his young apprentice Chen Cheng and went wandering, destination unknown. He is implied to have supernatural skills, possibly Taoist or folk magic. He taught Chen Cheng some abilities but apparently not criminal investigation directly. He was last seen leaving his tea house with no contact.
