Yao Ji is the son of the late prefect Yao Chong. He is a young general who was captured by the Jiao. He defiantly refused Jiao Zhu's advances and insulted her. His pipa bones were pierced, and he was sold as a slave. He is rescued by Jiang Jin and Zhou Sui.
