Uncle Zhao, a fellow porter and close friend of Yang Damin. He is sociable and well-connected at the station. He injures his foot while carrying sacks but continues to work due to family pressure. He is grateful to Yang Jun for helping him and insists on sharing his pay. He has three children, with an eldest son Zhao Ran who is not strong enough for labor.
