I'm a little worried the story might become too heavy on power fantasy with her abilities instantly solving problems. But the debt and the dangerous missions ahead could balance it out. Hope it stays challenging.
Overall, this first part sets up an intricate world and characters quickly. I want to read more about how she will deal with Lin Fang and her debts. Also curious about the three fiancés who got stolen.
The scene with Lin Zi tasting the purified grapes was nice. Small moment of her enjoying the fruits of her labor (literally). It sets up a sense of her taking control of her life.
One thing that bugged me: why didn't Qin Kuan notice he was drugged? The water tasted fine? And he had signs of beast transformation on his arm, but then it vanished and he didn't even question how he fell asleep?
The concept of beastmen with irritability values is an interesting twist on the alpha/beta/omega trope. I like that the solution is wood element abilities rather than just mating.
The emotional core of this segment is the relationship with the Big Dad. Despite all the sci-fi elements, the longing for family is relatable. I felt for both of them.
I'm not fully convinced why Lin Zi from the apocalypse is so calm and capable of using her wood abilities in a new world. But it's explained she looks exactly like the original body, so maybe that helps.
The writing quality overall is decent but sometimes the sentences are a bit clunky. Like the repeated phrasing of "Lin Zi was stunned" and "a flicker of surprise crossed her eyes". Could use more variety.
The fight is over the treatment device between Qin Kuan and Leng Gang – oh, they only have one? That's a bit odd for two military officers. But maybe it's expensive.
I appreciate that the author didn't drag out the father-daughter reconciliation. They had a misunderstanding, she apologized, he accepted. Short and sweet.
The regulatory detail about visiting time being limited was interesting. It adds pressure and makes the world feel more realistic with rules and monitoring.
The drop in irritability value from 94% to 88% in one session is huge. Even the characters are shocked. It makes me wonder if Lin Zi is actually way more powerful than she knows.
