Shen Qingli was reborn after a tragic death, swearing never to join the Jadeite Sect again. In her previous life, her birth mother Zhao Yue, the Saintess of the Jadeite Sect, brutally extracted her Phoenix Bone while she was still alive at the age of fifteen. Shen Qingli had cultivated the Phoenix Bone through nine Nirvana rebirths in a lava cave, a perfect bone forged by her own desperate struggle. Zhao Yue took the bone to save her junior sister Su Chacha, who suffered a cultivation deviation. The sect master and elders all condemned Shen Qingli for lacking camaraderie, and her most trusted junior brother Gu Cihe and the senior brother Pei Yanshu, whom she had a crush on, accused her of abuse. In her past life, after the extraction, she was thrown into the Heavenly Thunder Pool, her foundation destroyed, and she fell into demonic ways only to be killed by Zhao Yue and the sect. Now reborn, she wakes up lying in bed after the extraction, the pain still fresh. Despite her Phoenix Bone gone, she still possesses her Phoenix Soul. Su Chacha and Gu Cihe come to her room to provoke her, with Su Chacha feigning guilt and Gu Cihe mocking her for not willingly giving up the bone. Pei Yanshu also arrives, coldly stating that she is unworthy of being the head senior sister. Shen Qingli endures the pain and stands up with her Phoenix Soul, naming the disciples who had received her help but now turn against her. Gu Cihe kicks her knees, causing her to kneel, and the uncontrolled Profound Energy ruptures her meridians and skin. In desperation, Shen Qingli activates her Phoenix Soul and self-destructs it, shattering the Phoenix Bone inside Su Chacha's body as well. Zhao Yue descends to stop her but fails; the Phoenix Bone is broken. Shen Qingli collapses, and Zhao Yue takes Su Chacha away without a glance. Pei Yanshu expresses disappointment and leaves. Shen Qingli crawls back to her room, dying. But she has a secret: in her previous life, she obtained an inheritance called the Immortal Demon Transformation, a cultivation method that fuses immortal and demonic energies. She still has both pure immortal cultivation power and demonic energy. She begins to cultivate, and the immortal-demon power stabilizes her life force, rapidly healing her body. As she advances, she is drawn into a purple mist world where she obtains the Demonic Doctor Space and the medical inheritance of the Great Power who created the Immortal Demon Transformation. Within the space, she finds Primordial Chaos Qi that can reshape root bones. Shen Qingli wholeheartedly accepts the inheritance, resonating with the core principle that only by being merciless can one achieve the highest. She fuses completely, and her cultivation climbs back up. The purple energy gradually reshapes new, purple-glowing bones where her original bones were extracted. She loses track of time in the space, realizing later that three months in the space equal only three days in the outside world. Shen Qingli emerges from the Demonic Doctor Space, having reshaped her bones and reestablished her cultivation foundation. She is now determined to never have any connection with the Jadeite Sect again. She will pursue power through this merciless path, whether immortal or demonic, and seek her own revenge and destiny, no longer bound by sentimentality or the expectations of others.

I gotta say, Su Chacha kneeling and kowtowing is such a brilliantly infuriating scene. Shen Qingli is right, it's a show. She knows Zhao Yue or an elder is watching, or that it will be reported. It's a performance of guilt designed to make Shen Qingli look even more demonic. The fact that Shen Qingli can see through it in her mind is great, because it shows this life's protagonist is not going to be fooled.

The way the other disciples are described as "ungrateful wretches" and then later she literally uses that phrase in her head is a great character consistency. She gave them everything, and they're just vultures circling her deathbed. The mob mentality is written well, showing how a group of people can twist a victim into a perpetrator. It's infuriatingly realistic in a fantasy setting.

I'm glad she got the "Immortal Demon Transformation" early in the story. It would have been a slog if we spent too long watching her be weak and pathetic. The power-up feels earned because we saw the setup (the inheritance from the past life), and the trigger is her hitting absolute rock bottom. The desperation makes the upgrade feel like a lifeline, not a hand-out. It's the perfect way to kickstart the revenge arc.

The "Demonic Doctor Space" is an intriguing concept. It's not just a training room; it has a medical inheritance. This immediately opens up possibilities for her to be more than just a fighter. She could become a poisoner, a healer, or a creator of tricky pills and talismans. It gives her a versatile toolkit that feels unique compared to the standard sword-swinging protagonist. It fits her "meaner, more ruthless" attitude.

I'm very curious about the "rules" of the Jadeite Sect's punishment. The Sect Master and the elders all lined up to condemn her. Are they all in on it? Was this a plot to get her Phoenix Bone specifically for Su Chacha? It feels too convenient. The speed at which everyone turned on her suggests a deeper conspiracy. I'm hoping the story explores the political motivations behind this act of cruelty.

The pain in this story is visceral. The descriptions of the bone extraction, the ruptured meridians, and crawling while bleeding make you really *feel* her agony. It doesn't gloss over the physical cost of her defiance. This makes her eventual power-up feel even more like a triumph. She didn't just get stronger; she clawed her way out of a literal pit of suffering.
