Han Lingzhi is such an interesting antagonist. She’s clearly after Luo Jingqian for her own gain, and her disguise as a wealthy miss searching for medicine is paper thin. Her irritation at Han Cuiyin’s boldness feels well-earned—our heroine is definitely not the pushover she expected.
Yu Bai's decision to go home immediately instead of wasting time on revenge plans shows she learned from her past life. She prioritizes her family over everything, and that's refreshing. Her call to the mom and the way she held back tears was really emotional.
At first, I found myself struggling to get through the initial chapters of this novel, but I persevered, and I’m genuinely glad that I did. Once the plot began to unfold and gather momentum, it became evident that this story is truly one of a kind. One aspect that particularly stood out to me was the depth and complexity of the characters. The author has done an exceptional job of fleshing out not only the main protagonists but also the supporting characters. By the story’s conclusion, I was pleasantly surprised to realize just how invested I had become in the lives of several side characters, feeling a connection that is often rare in many novels. I did notice a slight lull in pacing around chapters 60 to 70, where the storyline seemed to slow down a bit. However, this dip was only temporary. Once the narrative transitioned into the climactic final battle, everything kicked back into high gear, and I was once again hooked. The intensity of the concluding chapters made for an exhilarating reading experience. Overall, I truly enjoyed my time with this novel. It managed to strike a balance between character development and plot progression, which is a testament to the author's skill. If you’re willing to push through the slower parts, you will be rewarded with a uniquely engaging story that lingers with you long after you’ve finished reading. Highly recommended!
Yi Qianqian's parents colluding with Tan Mobai's mom to trap them together is so chaotic and funny. "Don't come home until you're lovingly in love"? That is a hostage situation disguised as parenting. I can't believe they just cut off her money like that, but it makes for great drama.
