The system messages are a bit jarring at first, but they fit the story's mix of realism and fantasy. They explain her powers without overdoing it.
The author’s notes at the end of each chapter (“The quality of writing is guaranteed”, “Remember to collect and vote”) are a bit immersion-breaking if you’re reading this as a standalone novel text. But in the context of web serial culture, it’s normal. I just mentally skip them. The actual story content is strong enough to keep me reading anyway.
The MC sharing the eggs after winning is a fantastic character moment. He could have been greedy, but he's not. He's laying down the law as the "older brother." He takes the biggest one and gives them each one. It establishes a weird, cold, and transactional type of family dynamic that feels unique.
The scene where the narrator packs up and leaves without saying goodbye to the master felt very realistic.
The author knows this is a tropey mess and leans into the humor of it. The pause at 'I am going to be the man who becomes the One Piece' was hilarious. Guan Yi quoting the 'cannon fodder recruitment' poster is a nice meta-joke. 'Are you dissatisfied with your current life? Do you yearn for the Martial Arts?' It doesn't take itself so seriously that it becomes boring.
