The dialogue shift is so satisfying. The Saints are using all this ancient cultivation jargon—“贫僧... 本座... 道友”, and Su Ning is just like “吃吧,将就一下”. The culture clash between a modern blue-collar worker and ancient cultivators is more entertaining than I expected.
The female nurse gossiping about Zhang Shuai’s… uh… size during the defibrillation is such a realistic slice of hospital life. Of course they would talk about that! It’s unprofessional but completely human. Zhang Shuai overhearing this and immediately wanting to check out of the hospital out of sheer embarrassment is hilarious and relatable. The detail about the nurse glancing at his crotch during the checkup is golden. It’s those little, petty, awkward moments that make the world feel lived in.
