Sun Yanni and Fan Wencong feel like they are being set up as a recurring support network in the police force. Building relationships with the locals is smart social groundwork for a cultivator entering the real world.
The "swap the bride" plan is actually pretty clever for a desperate situation. Putting on the wedding dress, sneaking a slingshot and a dagger... it shows Jiang Ming is thinking ahead. But the part where he’s in the bathhouse joking with the maids, calling himself "son-in-law," made me roll my eyes. He’s definitely got that cocky, modern MC vibe that thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room. Chen Dabao wanting to beat him up is totally understandable. You’ve got a vagrant acting like he owns the place after one meal. I’m on Chen Dabao’s side for that moment, even though he’s a bit of a jerk himself.
Overall, this is a promising start to a litRPG/isekai story with a dark twist. The main character’s voice is engaging, the world-building is layered with mystery, and the pacing alternates between system exploration and lore drops. Some readers might find the stat-query sequences a bit repetitive, but I enjoyed them because they establish clear rules. The biggest strength is the sense of scale – from a small pool to a cosmic event. I’m definitely intrigued and would keep reading to see how Chen Yi’s “Omniscient Eye” and his non-human identity unfold.
