The small animal details add life to the setting. The mouse running across her feet and she's just too numb to care is a great character beat. It shows how overwhelmed she is by everything else that a mouse barely registers. The croaking frogs and chirping insects outside during the night scene help establish the rural setting without heavy exposition. These little touches make the world feel lived in.
If you like isekai stories with a twist, a relatable protagonist, and a hint of mystery, this is worth a read. The opening is strong, the system has personality (especially the Defective Map), and the driver character is intriguing. I'd keep reading to see where the story goes and what the organization is up to.
2 I do have a small criticism: the dialogue sometimes feels a bit repetitive, especially during arguments. Cui Shi calls Qiao Nian a "b*tch" and "slut" a lot, and while it's in character, it gets a little old. But honestly, in the heat of a family feud, people do repeat themselves. It's not a deal-breaker.
The author leans hard into the classic isekai tropes and it works. 'Heroes... please, save us!!' from the kneeling princess is so intentionally cliché that it's charming. The tone feels self-aware without being mean.
