Overall, this is a solid start to a light novel. It's funny, has a unique main character, and navigates tropes well. The variety show setup promises social dynamics and chaos. I'm hoping Yan Zhizhi stays relatable and the humor remains fresh. Will definitely check out the next chapters.
Okay, this opening is wild. The whole "waking up to five absurdly hot beast husbands all demanding a divorce at once" is such a hilarious and over-the-top premise. I was immediately hooked. The detail about her being a washed-up actress who got struck by lightning? Chef's kiss for dramatic irony. You just know her internal monologue of thinking it's all a crazy film set is going to age like milk. The descriptions of the guys are pure wish-fulfillment fantasy, but it's done with so much energy that it doesn't feel cheap. Ye Kuo with his black panther ears slamming the table is already a iconic dramatic king.
I’m curious about the other captive women. They’re given lines, but only briefly. Maybe later we’ll learn more about them or their own stories. The world has many potential side characters. For now, they serve as a haunting backdrop. Their silent suffering is powerful. Hope they get more depth later.
