I need more context on why Luo Yingxue and Yu Kai are on Earth. The father is trapped in the Execution Tower in the Immortal Realm. Did she flee Earth to protect her son? Is Earth a hiding place? The story mentions "Earth Star" as if it's a planet in a larger cosmos. This could be a grand space opera setting, but we've only seen a school and a villa. I hope the scope expands because the urban school stuff is getting a bit repetitive.
1 I'm suspicious of Old Guo's "red fruit" story. Finding an antidote in the middle of nowhere? Why not bring antivenom from the mainland? Either he's lying to get people into the woods, or he's hiding something about the island's resources.
The food scene was a nice cozy breather. Isekai stories always need a good meal scene to ground the fantasy. Butter rolls and grilled meat hits the spot.
Her reaction to seeing the whole wild bird without a head being thrust in her face is so relatable. "Anyone would be surprised if a headless wild bird was suddenly presented to them." She's not squeamish about hunting or meat; she grew up in a village. But the sudden presentation of a corpse right in your face is just bad manners. It's a great character moment that shows the captain is a bit of a thoughtless goof.
Li Yu and Fu Xiyao’s relationship is built on small gestures that feel genuine. He pats her head, she leans against his back to sleep. They don’t have big emotional speeches, but when Li Yu says “It’s not your fault” after the team breaks up, that hit. She blames herself, and he just tells her it’s okay. Simple but effective. And Fu Xiyao saving him the food even though she’s hungry? That’s the kind of loyalty that makes you care about both of them.
