The description of the mountain and the village is vivid enough, especially the mist and the dew-laden forest. But some parts felt a bit clunky, like when Bai Yi is chasing the carp and suddenly finds the rich kids—it happened too conveniently. The pacing in those early scenes could’ve used more buildup.
