The classroom’s description is minimal. We know there are desks, books, students, parents. That’s it. I’d like more details about the environment, like the class board, the posters, the clutter. Right now the setting is just a stage for dialogue.
I absolutely LOVE this novel! It has quickly become one of my favorite reads of 2025, and I can’t help but rave about it. The incorporation of magical abilities adds an enchanting layer to the story, making every twist and turn feel fresh and unpredictable. I’m particularly drawn to the unique take on the system administrator concept; it brings a fascinating dynamic that sets this story apart from others in the genre. Additionally, the relationships between the characters are intriguing; however, I feel there’s so much more potential for exploration in their interactions and development. A deeper dive into their backgrounds and motivations could truly elevate the narrative. While I’m not quite sure why the stars aren’t displaying for me, if I could rate it, I would give it a solid 4.5 out of 5. Overall, this book has captivated my attention, and I can't wait to see where the story goes next!
Gu Yue's leg injury means he can't walk for half a month, creating a reason for him to accept Song Chu's help with meals. This forced proximity will lead to more interactions and maybe development of their relationship. It's a typical trope but well integrated into the plot because of the lab cooperation.
I love how Mama Xu and Madam Dongyang have a history of loyalty. Mama Xu seems more like a friend than a servant, defending the family's humble roots and boasting they survived while others fell. That kind of servant-mistress bond builds the realism of the household. She also softens Madam Dongyang's harsh moments.
