Li Wuyya's relationship with her father is only hinted at (he secured the job for her mother), but I already respect him as a provider. The fact that he joined the garrison at thirteen is a grim detail that speaks volumes about the setting.
I just want to say I love that the system is called "Modify" and the instruction manual exists. It makes the fantasy element feel grounded. And the fact that she has to level up for better mods gives a clear goal. I can't wait to see how she uses her new family freedom.
The dialogue in this is surprisingly natural for a translated novel. The mc’s inner voice sounds modern and relatable without being anachronistic. Some lines like “if you have the guts strike me down with one blow” felt a bit dramatic but in a way that fit the genre. The prince’s terse threats are also working for his character. I wasn’t distracted by weird phrasing which is often a problem with translated works.
