Lu Qing’an’s caution is off the charts, and honestly I love it. Most protagonists in these stories would blindly trust the Immortal who comes to take them to the Immortal Realm. Not this guy. He immediately thinks it might be a trap, sets up his Appraisal Formation, discovers the Gu poison, and refuses to swallow the pill. That level of paranoia after ten thousand years of survival feels earned.
Reading this felt like watching a survival game stream—lots of text stats and numbers but with a story attached. The LV upgrade sequence is straight out of a game, and I can see how some readers might find it immersion-breaking. For me, it kind of fits because the character himself is confused by the numbers. But I hope the system doesn’t become the main focus. The human drama is what’s interesting.
The moment when her master Xiao Qi visits and she says “our master-disciple karma is completely over, I owe you nothing” really got me. You can feel how much she’s been through. And then he flees when he sees her indifference—poetic justice. He expected concern but got stone cold rejection.
The tree hollow safe house feels like a good base, but the 'incomplete version' hint suggests there's more to do. It's a logical first step.
The "flight" metaphor is underrated. Calling the coffin a "flight", himself a "passenger", and the Crocodile Ancestor missing the boarding call is hilarious modern framing. It makes the cosmic journey feel like a comedic airplane delay. This kind of humor is exactly what makes a fanfiction stand out from the sometimes too-serious tone of the original Xianxia genre.
Third Aunt Mo's house being next to the cemetery and full of coffins and funeral supplies - perfect setting for someone who knows about supernatural stuff. Her reaction to the baby's eyes ("Yin Yang Fate, Spirit Body!") makes me want to know more about these concepts.
The RV's autopilot function set at 2–3 km/h is a bit slow, but it gives time for people to react. The fact that she has to pretend to pull it to maintain cover, then later goes inside and drives, suggests her acting helps control the narrative. I wonder how long she can keep up the ruse that it's a mechanical carriage. Sooner or later the officers will figure out no one is pushing.
