The pacing before the transmigration was way too fast though—one minute she’s getting the space, next she’s buying 100 pigs and 2000 chickens like it’s nothing. I wish the author slowed down to let me feel the weight of her decisions, maybe show her second-guessing or panicking a bit.
I'm already shipping Du Qingyang and Xiang Zhihang even though they barely interacted. The divination scene, the candy, the apology ("I'm sorry") that shook him to his core—it's the classic "she's the first person to treat me like a human" trope, and I'm a sucker for it. He's a walking tragedy with good bones (literally tall and handsome if not malnourished), and she's a pragmatic modern girl. The power imbalance will fix itself when he becomes a big shot. Yes please.
Mos’s human status screen bug is such a neat idea. She’s a literal rat but still has her old human panel locked because her stats are too low. That instantly gives her a goal and makes me root for her. I’m curious how she’ll level up in a rat body without dying. The fact that she started rapping and dancing when she saw the system was super cringe but also perfectly in character for someone who just discovered a golden finger.
One thing bugging me: why is no one talking about the baby’s father, Gu Kaichuan, more? He’s the villain later, but he’s been sent away. Is he incompetent or just avoiding family drama? I know he’ll become revenge-driven after his wife and child die, but I want to see his present personality. The time skip to his return can’t come soon enough.
