The number 30 million is thrown around casually. It’s a huge sum, but in the context of this world, it’s nothing. The story normalizes extreme wealth. This can be escapist fun, but it also makes the conflicts less relatable. The school bullying feels tiny compared to 30 million slaps.
One thing that threw me was the sudden shift to the human commander's perspective in the middle. It's not bad, but it breaks the immersion from Yun Ming's point of view. I get that it's for worldbuilding, but I'd prefer more focus on the MC especially early on. Still, it's not a dealbreaker.
I liked the little detail about her checking for animal tracks before setting up camp. Shows she's not careless. And the fact that she didn't let herself fall asleep fully, staying half-awake all night, really sells the danger of the wilderness.
The way the MC just grabs the dried fish and eats it after praying—"Deity above, I will not eat your offerings for free. I will guard your temple for three days"—that bargaining is such a relatable human move. He's trying to be polite but is starving. It's comedic and endearing. And then the system activates immediately after. Almost like the god appreciated his deal? Could be coincidence. Either way, it made me smile.
2 The way Old Guo found the notebook and immediately knew what it said is suspicious. He flipped through it so quickly. Like he already knew what was in there. Maybe he wrote it himself. That would explain the deliberate calm handwriting.
1 The gathering of the young ladies is a nice touch. Those girls being trapped in the capital all their lives and Xi Lin sharing her experiences in Jiangnan gives a bittersweet vibe. The envy in their eyes is palpable. It makes you appreciate Xi Lin’s freedom even more.
Wen Yilin entering the story feels like a breath of fresh air. A normal person with normal problems who just needs a job. “I almost thought it was a scam.” She’s the voice of reason in a world full of greedy snakes. I hope she develops into a real ally and not just a tool for the company setup.
