Xie Yuchen saying "Finalle you've spoken" to Lin when he replies about the parking ticket is such a deliberate callout. He's been waiting all day to get a reaction from him. Earlier in the day, Lin completely ignored him at the courthouse (rolled up the window). Now he finally speaks, and it's to give him a moving violation. Xie’s mix of annoyance and entertainment is hilarious. He's so used to being in control, but Lin is the variable.
I read this in one sitting because it’s so addictive. There’s something about watching a cold man be turned silly by a little girl that gets me every time. The chapters are short and the drama is low-stakes so far. It’s a perfect palate cleanser after a heavy book. I didn’t feel the need to skip anything because everything is either cute or funny. The pacing keeps you turning pages to see how the grandparents react next or what Su Luo will do.
I appreciate that the novel doesn't shy away from darker elements even with a cute protagonist. The husband-wife conflict that almost kills an innocent bystander? That's real-world horror. The dog attack? That's terrifying for a child. The driver's potential betrayal? It's being set up as a serious threat. The novel balances its light comedic tone with moments of genuine tension, which makes the stakes feel real and the victory satisfying.
Okay, the stone wall in his head is a fascinating concept, but I have so many questions. You're telling me this guy woke up with a fragment of the Cosmic Wall inside his brain and it just sits there? Won't give him cultivation techniques, won't give him money? That's like winning the lottery but the check is stuck in an unbreakable safe. I feel his frustration trying to negotiate with a rock that won't talk back. It better have some payoff later because right now it feels like a tease.
2 The side characters from the PSB seem interesting but underdeveloped. We've got Tian Taozi as the main contact, but there were other soldiers mentioned who helped lift the flower petals and whispered about Lin Wang being a Northerner. I hope they get more screen time. A good supporting cast can make or break a story like this, and so far the focus has been almost entirely on Lin Wang's perspective. Some chapters from other viewpoints might add depth.
Reading this chapter felt like watching a tightly choreographed revenge drama. Every line of dialogue served a purpose, every action advanced the plot or revealed character. No wasted words. And the emotional payoff when she finally left the hall with Li Tianhen was so cathartic. I actually fist-pumped.
