The induction training scene is hilarious in the most terrifying way. “Here are the sixteen categories of monsters. Okay, you’re qualified. Get in the van.” It perfectly establishes how disposable the Bureau considers the temporary investigators. Total cannon fodder energy.
The cooking with cucumber scene was oddly sweet? I mean this man is clearly a good cook, and he’s making her stir-fry with such confidence. But also… he didn’t leave after getting paid. That persistence is either romantic or stalkerish. Still, the domestic vibes are there.
I'm curious about the world-building regarding the compound and the military families. We get hints about ranks and housing assignments, the old master's influence, and the social rules. It feels authentic. The way Grandpa Fang can arrange a marriage just by wanting it shows his power, but it also shows how suffocating that world can be. Shen Qi is a fish out of water there because she wasn't raised in it. That outsider perspective makes her more relatable. I hope the story explores more of this setting in future parts, showing how Shen Qi navigates it on her own terms.
