The dog smelling things is a bit silly since it’s a robot. But I let it slide because it’s cute. And it led to finding Jiang Tao and Duo Duo, so plot-wise it works. Just don’t make it a habit, author.
But wait – she drags him by the ear in the middle of a street, and he’s worried about her image? That’s such a kid response. Also, how did she know he was out of the hospital? It’s a small town, but still. coincidence or plot convenience?
I wonder if Su Nuannuan will ever develop actual feelings for Duan Tingxuan, or if she'll stay in her "if it can't be eaten, get out" mindset. I kind of hope she stays practical and doesn't fall for his handsome face and power. A foodie queen who doesn't need a man? That would be refreshing.
Zhou Zhiruo’s portrayal here is interesting. She’s described as slender, gentle, with a melancholic air, and she’s only eleven. In the original story, she starts out innocent but later becomes manipulative. I wonder if the author will take her down that same path or make her a loyal side character for the MC. The way she complimented his memory felt genuine, but I’m already dreading the inevitable love triangle drama that might happen between her, Zhao Jingxuan, or whoever else.
I’m curious about the stepmother and the father. They’re barely mentioned but they’re clearly villains in the background. Sacrificing an innocent daughter to save the favored one is such a scummy move. I hope the mc gets some kind of revenge later. Not immediate petty revenge, but real satisfying payback. The fact that they thought this would just work out and no one would notice is ridiculous. The emperor’s involvement probably covers their tracks but still.
The worldbuilding with spirit bodies and corruption is really interesting. I like how the ‘festering’ planet is explained—it’s not just a game mechanic, it’s the reason for everything. Beastmen get mental scars, tamers purify them, and the whole society revolves around that balance. The one-in-a-hundred-thousand ratio makes tamers super precious, which explains the ‘one wife, multiple husbands’ social structure. It’s logical in a weird way.
That scene where Su Wang said "it has nothing to do with me, it has to do with Shen Yan" about his exes... I've been wondering about that ever since. Is Shen Yan unknowingly stealing his girlfriends? That would explain a lot.
Wen Chuhan feels like a very one-note villainess right now. "Married to the MC, loves the overseas CEO." I get that she's the catalyst for his development, but I really hope the author gives her some depth later so the "regret" part of the story hits harder. Right now, she is just a massive red flag on legs.
I'm really curious about Qiao Nian's space ability from the apocalypse world. She mentions having supplies stocked, but no kids' clothes. That's a smart detail—it shows her previous life's priorities and adds a layer of practicality. I wonder if she'll start using it more, like pulling out some medicine or tools when things get really bad. It's a cool ace in the hole.
