1 The burning scene is actually kind of beautiful. The smoke filling the hall, the candles and incense, her talking to her grandfather's photo. It's such a grounding ritual moment after all the chaos. Makes you feel the weight of tradition and family connection.
The difficulty slider being changed to Beginner and instantly making everything easier was such a satisfying payoff. It's the ultimate power fantasy wish fulfillment, but done in a way that feels earned because we saw her struggle first. I was cheering when she shoved that goblin and sent him flying into a stalactite. The game-like mechanics make the violence feel almost playful, which is weird to say about decapitations.
Luo Qingyu’s final appearance, with blood on her thigh and a blank look, is meant to be tragic, but I mostly felt uncomfortable. She’s been reduced to a broken possession. Her plot to steal military power was wrong, but her punishment seems excessive. The story frames it as justice, but it’s hard to shake the feeling that she’s being punished for her sexuality and ambition. I wanted to see her fight back more or have some cunning retaliation, but she just stands there helpless. It’s a bit one-dimensional.
I have to say, the way Mo Yunxuan just ignores the noisy system until he needs it perfectly captures the energy of someone who has dealt with pop-up ads and notifications their whole life. He doesn't freak out, he just mutes it and gets on with his day. It’s such a mundane, modern reaction to a life-altering event. It makes him feel like someone from our world who just got dropped into a fantasy, for better or worse.
