Derry wanting to be an adventurer with Eld but being stuck as the family heir is a classic trope but it works. It gives him a reason to stay in the background while still being connected to the main story. Maybe he’ll get his chance later.

I do wish we got more details about what the outside world looks like - the setting descriptions are a bit sparse. We have the demon king's castle, an outpost tent, and a city commercial district, but I'd love more worldbuilding meat

The repetition of “Meow” in his internal monologue is funny but also cringe. I get he’s a cat, but it’s overused. Please, let him think like a human most of the time. The novelty wore off after the second “Meow.”
