Seven Demon Lords is a lot of overarching villains. I hope they are all distinct characters with unique designs, not just a series of similar boss fights.
I love the touch of logistics in the worldbuilding. Gelgar cores are heavy and require specific skills to extract without damaging them. It means hunting them isn't just a stat check. It makes Tempest's ability to farm them look even more impressive. And her making the fallen adventurers carry the cores is peak work smarter, not harder.
The transmigration part was a bit sudden, but I appreciate how Zhou Yan just rolled with it. No whining, just accepting the fact that he’s now in 1984 with a failing restaurant and debt. That pragmatism felt refreshing. I was worried the story would drag with him panicking, but instead, he immediately started assessing his situation. That’s a character I can get behind.
Shi Feizhe’s dry humor about his situation is a highlight. Lines like “Death was not the most terrifying thing; what was terrifying was dying without a single thing to be proud of” feel genuinely introspective and not overly philosophical. His inner voice is consistent and believable for a modern person dropped into such a harsh setting.
