I have to admit, the morality is hard to swallow sometimes. The story openly embraces breaking up a family for personal gain. But I guess that’s the point of “villainess wish-fulfillment.” It’s a safe space to explore dark fantasies. If I want a clean romance, I’d read something else. For a guilty pleasure read, this hits the spot.
The talk about the trading system opening at level 5 – that’s a common MMO gate. It means now players can trade, but it also means Tang Feng could potentially sell his old equipment? But most of his gear is untradeable due to blessing. Maybe he can farm normal high-end gear and make bank. I’m interested to see how the in-game economy starts. Also the question: who will be first to level 5? We already know it’s Tang Feng, but the all-server hype buildup makes the eventual announcement rewarding. The author set up the expectation with village announcements and now the trading system gate. Good pacing.
Bing Ling is such an interesting mother figure – cold and distant on the surface, but clearly caring deeply. The detail that she always came home early after they had their cave home says a lot. I like that she doesn’t shower Mo Han with affection, but her love shows through actions, like giving him “freedom” as a gift. That moment was so bittersweet. She knows he needs to grow beyond the icefield, even though it breaks her heart to send him away. Her rare smile when watching him and Feixue play is perfect.
Let's talk about the "Entry" system mechanics. It's like a gacha game for wives with affection levels. "Entry Points" sound like a currency for pulling, and the "Entries" are the results. The "Golden Entry" he got is essentially his starter bonus. I'm curious about the quality of entries. Are there Bronze, Silver, Gold? What about Legendary? The naming is fine, but I want to see a clear hierarchy of power. The descriptions are also a bit sparse. "The effort you put in will surely be rewarded." That's very vague. Does it just multiply his growth rate? Does it guarantee a return? The small font for the explanations being at the bottom of the panel is a bit annoying, but again, it's a solid start for a system I want to see more of.
The pacing between his breakdown at the stream and him joking about "lack of kidney essence" felt jarring. One second he's crying and cursing heaven, the next he's making jokes about his body. I get that humans have emotional whiplash, but it seemed a bit abrupt. Maybe a longer transition or more internal struggle would make it smoother. Still, it's early, and his personality seems to bounce between drama and humor, which might be intentional.
