After reading these first few chapters, I'm definitely hooked. Smart MC with a clear goal, interesting family dynamics, and a bit of palace intrigue in the background. The writing is competent and the pace keeps me engaged. I'll keep reading to see how she handles the Su family and her new life.
1 The transition from the old Tree of Life to the new one was bittersweet. The old tree is withered and dying, and Lin Yi can only watch. But once he plants the seed, the new tree grows fast and is described as lush, vibrant, and full of life. It symbolizes rebirth, which is fitting for a story about reviving elven glory. That said, the death scene could have been more emotionally drawn out—it felt a bit clinical.
I’m curious to see if the “red elixir” is dangerous or if it has a specific use for animals. Xiao Hei’s reaction—sniffing it out, licking it, and collapsing into a deep sleep—suggests a strong biological effect. It seems less about plant growth and more about animal transformation. Maybe it can heal, enhance, or even evolve living creatures. This creates a separate, exciting branch of possibilities for the story. If the green elixir is for plants, the red one might be for animals. The author has set up two parallel magic systems, which is a good way to add variety and complexity.
I can’t tell if the main antagonist is the Aberrations or something else. The mention of “Spirit Gate” being built by Aberrations gives a quest objective. I’m curious why they are invading and what’s on the other side. The lore about previous races suffering heaven’s wrath makes me think humans might be next, and the Aberrations are a form of punishment. That would be a cool twist.
