I laughed out loud when she checked the mirror and was happy that she became a pretty zombie. “She must be the prettiest zombie now!” That’s such a Youxiang thing – even in an apocalypse, she’s worried about being ugly. Her imagining walking among the horde in a dress while all zombies envy her – that’s hilarious. It gives her a lot of personality and makes her likeable despite being undead. Her vanity is a running gag but it also shows she’s still clinging to her humanity in her own weird way.

The way Tang Weiyu casually mentions borrowing the pendant “for a few days” is so dismissive. She acts like it’s nothing, but her holding onto it so tightly says otherwise. The tension in that exchange is great.
