Overall I’m a bit mixed but leaning positive. The start is strong emotionally, the isekai part is tropey but has interesting hooks with the singing and gardening skills. I’m not sold on the God yet — he feels like a convenient plot device rather than a character — but maybe he’ll get more depth later. The dialogue is sometimes too modern and casual for a god, but that might be intentional to make him approachable. I’m most looking forward to seeing Hinami in the forest setting, dealing with the house and the garden, and figuring out how to survive with no attack powers. That could lead to creative problem-solving. If the story focuses on survival and slice-of-life moments alongside danger, it could be a refreshing read. I’ll keep reading to find out.
The concept of the "Useless Meridians" is a classic cultivation handicap. It locks him out of the traditional path to power. So how will he get strong? The voice in his head at the very beginning strongly hints at an external power source or a system. I'm curious to see how the author handles this. Will it be a “cheat system” that downloads powers into him? Or will it be a technique from a forgotten immortal? The potential for a creative, non-standard cultivation path is high. This is where the story can really differentiate itself.
I feel genuinely sorry for the minor characters who get caught in the crossfire. That baker in Taiping town who lost his whole family for giving alms to the right wrong person? That’s grim. The story doesn’t shy away from showing how collateral damage affects regular people, not just cultivators.
The pacing of the romance is fast but believable for a mission system story. Bei Shi doesn’t waste time; she goes straight for psychological manipulation. Xiao Nai falls equally fast because he’s repressed. It mimics the “quick seduction” pacing common in this genre, which works for readers who want immediate payoff. There’s no slow-burn here, but that’s fine for what it is.
I found the line "only a crazy person's spirit would be so excited" from the attribute evaluation intriguing. It suggests that mental instability might boost power, which could be a running theme. Lin Tian's high spirit after two transmigrations might be a side effect of his soul being scrambled. This could lead to interesting character development if he actually loses his mind.
