That shows her character integrity. She also tells Wang Dali that because he was kind enough to talk to her earlier, she wanted to help. So there’s this karmic circle of kindness. It’s not preachy, it’s just a nice little detail that makes the world feel more coherent.

I’m a little conflicted about the whole "soul returning to its origin" explanation. It feels like the author just needed a convenient excuse for the transmigration. But hey, at least it ties the jade pendant and the dream together. Not mad at it, but not impressed either.
