Overall, this is a solid start to a rebirth story with a realistic emotional journey. It doesn’t rush into revenge or romance. Instead, it explores the pain of being emotionally done. Yuan Xueyue’s passive resistance is a risky move that might bore some readers, but for me it feels authentic. I’m in for the long haul to see her finally find freedom—or maybe rediscover love.
The pacing works for a serialized story but might feel too fast in a novel. In just a few pages, we go from a normal academy life to a complete life upheaval. If this were a book, I’d want a bit more breathing room between the second summons and the forced employment. Maybe a chapter with Zashuria trying to plot a way out or consulting with allies. But for a web novel or light novel format, the quick progression keeps the reader hooked. I was definitely flipping pages fast.
The pacing is a little weird – it starts with a slow slice-of-life, then sudden apocalypse, then a time skip of a month. Then we get action scenes, then safe base stuff. But it never feels boring because the character interactions are engaging. The time skip might have missed some learning curve, but it lets us jump into the dynamic quickly. I do wish we saw more of her first days as a zombie adapting, but the current pace works for a light read.
I really like the idea of the True Dragon Sacred Body being a "dual cultivation sacred body" that requires intimacy to grow stronger. That's a clever way to justify romantic subplots and harem building within the power system. It also ties his personal anger and revenge into his cultivation, which keeps the plot moving. But I worry it might turn into a purely plot-driven mechanic where Su Chen just keeps collecting women. Hopefully the author uses it to build actual relationships rather than just a power-up spigot. So far with Han Qianrou it's been pretty transactional.
